Going on in Bologna: the series “Tre sguardi sul Rinascimento” organized by 8cento

The second rendezvous, focusing on dances and astrological allegories in 16th century Italy, will be held by Claudia Celi with the participation of Paolo Di Segni

Organized in Bologna (Central Italy) by Associazione 8cento, the series Tre sguardi sul Rinascimento continues on January 16 and 17 with Chiara Stella. Danze e allegorie astrali nell’Italia del Cinquecento held by Claudia Celia weekend featuring an Early Dance workshop and a performance-demonstration.

Taking its cue from the poems printed along the dance descriptions in the treatises by the dance masters of 16th and early 17th century, in which also the virtues of heavenly bodies are the means to celebrate the qualities of Ladies and Lords to whom the dances were dedicated, the workshop will study dance forms inspired by astrological allegories.

After the first lesson open to all, taught on Saturday January 16 from 3.00 to 6.00PM, the classes will continue on Sunday 17 subdivided in this way: 10.00AM to 1.00PM beginner/intermediate level; 2.00 to 5.00PM intermediate/advanced level.

Saturday evening at 9.00PM at the Museo Civico Medievale, Claudia Celi will hold a lecture-performance, partnered by Paolo Di Segni.
