The teachers of the 2013 edition: Federico Marincola, Renaissance lute and Baroque guitar

The course is open to beginners as well as to advanced students and will focus on technical and interpretative aspects of the Renaissance lute and Baroque guitar repertory. Students of classical guitar wishing to approach the early music repertory on their instrument will also be admitted.

FEDERICO MARINCOLA, born in Rome, after studying classical guitar has followed the Lute courses at the  “Sweelinck” Conservatory in  Amsterdam and at the Royal College of Music in London. Afterwards he graduated summa cum laude at the faculty of Sociology of the Università di Urbino and obtained his diploma in Lute with the highest marks at the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome. He also obtained a diploma in Singing at the Music Conservatory of Menton (France). For more than twenty years has carried out an intense concert activity in Europe, Asia and the Americas as a soloist, in ensembles and in orchestras. In addition to many recordings with distinguished orchestras and ensembles he has recorded several CD’s as a soloist of lute and Renaissance guitar for the label Verany-Arion. These last works have been enthusiastically received by the international critics and the French magazine Diapason has recognized him as one of the leading performers in the field of Renaissance lute discography.
