The “Il Teatro della Memoria” Ballroom Orchestra performs for the Gran Ballo di Natale organized by the Pisa chapter of “Società di Danza”

On 15 december 2013 the Circolo Pisano della Società di Danza (directed by Simonetta Balsamo) has organized at the magnificent Villa della Seta di Corliano (San Giuliano di Pisa) its Christmas Ball featuring a program of 19th century dances with live accompaniment by the Orchestra da ballo de Il Teatro della Memoria, a «variable geometry» ensemble ranging from four to twelve instruments, led by Andrea Toschi and specialized in the performance of Salon Orchestra typical repertory, making use of orginal period arrangements.

A numerous audience of 19th century ballroom dance lovers has danced to the music of such composers as Johann Strauss, Paolo Giorza, Josif Ivanovici, Joseph Lanner, Romualdo Marenco, John Philip Sousa played by Michele Cianfoni (violin), Rossella Di Chio (piano), Yvonne Fisher (clarinet) and Andrea Toschi (bassoon).
