A vacancy has arisen for a Music Archives Cataloguer to catalogue the collection of correspondence, diaries, concert programmes and photographs that makes up the musical archive of the conductor Sir Malcolm Sargent. You will require specialist skills and knowledge to bring these important collections to wider public knowledge through cataloguing to agreed international archival standards.
Essential requirements:
– Honours degree in music or equivalent qualification or professional experience
– Ability to read and decipher handwriting of the early twentieth century
– Experience of using national and international standards for cataloguing archives and manuscripts
– Familiarity with cataloguing using an online cataloguing system
– Experience of standard word-processing and other PC software
