At Mondovì (Italy) the 20th Baroque and Classical Orchestra Training Course selections

Academia Montis Regalis will award 13 scholarships for young players

On November 9th and 10th 2012 the town of Mondovì (near Cuneo in Piedmont) will host the selections for the 20th Baroque and Classical Orchestra training course organized by Fondazione Academia Montis Regalis Onlus, that will admit 7 violin, 2 viola da braccio, 2 cello, 1 double bass and e 1 harpsichord players. Candidates must have a Conservatory diploma and be born after January 1st 1980. Those that will be selected to attend the course – that will be subdivided in 5 study periods of one week per month between March and July 2013 – will be awarded a scholarship of €2.000 (before taxes), free board for all study periods and a grant toward travel expenses. The courses will be taught by Luigi Mangiocavallo, Olivia Centurioni, Amandine Beyer, Enrico Onofri, Alessandro De Marchi. At the end of the course the best participants may be called to fill vacant chairs in the Orchestra of the Academia Montis Regalis for concert and recording activities during the season 2013-2014.

The brochure with information about how to apply – before the deadline of October 21st – and the audition programs is available on the webpage of the Accademia Montis Regalis. Candidates for bowed instruments must perform on a baroque instrument with gut strings and period bow, tuned to A = 415 Hz.
