Selection for Co-Principal Bassoon at the Orchestra of The Age of Enlightenment

The ensemble is looking for a specialist in the Baroque repertoire

The Orchestra of The Age of Enlightenment (OAE) has announced a selection process for the post of Co-Principal Bassoon. The ensemble is looking for a Baroque specialist but is also keen to hear from candidates who cover broader repertoire. Experience in historically informed performance on period instruments is essential.

The selection process announced on the OAE website requires that applicants, who must be highly qualified and experienced, send an e-mail before 24 February 2017 with the completed application form (downloadable from the website) to this address: sarah.irving@oae.co.uk. In addition, two references should be sent directly from the referees to OAE. Some applicants may be asked to submit a video recording of themselves as a preliminary measure prior to the audition selection process.

London based OAE is also Associate Orchestra at the Glyndebourne Opera Festival; it produces about 100 concerts per year. It is a self-governing orchestra and all members are expected to take an active part in the governance and promotion of the orchestra. In June 2016 the OAE has celebrated the end of its 30th season.
