A young performers concert series
Every Friday from July 13th to September 14th the splendid Villa d’Este at Tivoli will host, during the evening opening hours, a festival devoted to young performers specialized in early music. The program of the concert series – organized by Villa d’Este, with artistic direction by Maurizio Lopa, in collaboration with the Early Music Departments of several Italian Conservatories and of the Accademia Angelica Costantiniana di Roma – will soon be available on the Festival’s webpage. The first concert – Friday July 13th at 9.00 PM – will see the engagement of the Dipartimenti di Musica Antica of the Conservatorio “A. Casella” dell’Aquila and of Accademia Angelica Costantiniana in a program that features music by Georg Friedrich Händel, Giovanni Platti and Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach performed by Tiziano Teodori (flauto traversiere) and Isabella Maurizio (clavicembalo).
Alongside the concerts, between 8.00 and 12.00 PM the audience can also visit the exhibition Magnificenze a Tavola – Le arti del banchetto rinascimentale, curated by the director of Villa d’Este Marina Cogotti and by June di Schino, scholar of the history of alimentation in Italy and teacher at Università degli Studi Roma Tre and at Università di Bologna. The exhibition is promoted by the Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici e Paesaggistici per le Province di Roma, Frosinone, Latina, Rieti e Viterbo and realized by De Luca Editori d’Arte.
