On May 17-18 Il Teatro della Memoria offers an intensive Cinquecento dance weekend
PROGRAM
The Wheel of Fortune, that among the Arcanes evokes changes in the cycle of life, was an image dear to the culture and reflects itself on the music and the dance of the period. It will be the inspiration for a weekend workshop featuring the dances of the Cinquecento reconstructed according to the treatises by dance masters. Both modules are open to students of any level.

Schedule and location
The May 17-18 weekend is articulated in two independent modules: it’s possibile to attend both or only one of them. Click on the image below to download the poster.
Module A – Saturday May 17: 15,00-17,00 – 17,30-19,30
Module B – Sunday May 18: 10,30-12,30 – 14,00-16,00

Location: Centro Samila in motus – via Costantino Beltrami 25 – Roma (close to Metro B Piramide subway station)
Fees and registration info
Reduced “early bird” fees with payment up to May 10, 2025:
- One module 70 euros
- Two modules 120 euros
With payment after May 10:
- One module 90 euros
- Two modules 140 euros
A special discount of 10 euros will be granted to students enrlolled in Higher Education Institutions or registered with designated schools and associations. Write us at info@teatrodellamemoria.org to obtain the discount coupon.
The payment of the fee can be made:
- by credit card on this page;
- by bank transfer to the account n. 67/494577 at Banca Fideuram (IBAN IT44R0329601601000067494577 – BIC-SWIFT code: FIBKITMM) in the name of “Il Monocordo di Andrea Toschi”; in order to save on bank transfer charges, be sure to choose the “shared charges” option if your bank is within SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area);
- If your bank is outside SEPA write us and we’ll send you a link to pay through another platform so that you can avoid bank transfer charges.
After the payment has been sent, fill the form on the registration page indicating the chosen modules (A, B or both).
The Masterclass has a maximum number of twelve places. Students will be enrolled according to the order of arrival of the registration form. Those that cannot be admitted because the maximum has been reached will be promptly informed, and the amount paid will be refunded in full. Should a minimum number of registrations be not reached, the masterclass will be cancelled, and the amount paid will be refunded. No amount will be refunded in case of cancellation by the student.

CLAUDIA CELI
Danzatrice, laureata presso l’Università di Roma “La Sapienza” con una tesi sulla danza aulica italiana nel Rinascimento si è specializzata con Barbara Sparti, Francine Lancelot, Shirley Wynne, Angene Feves. Componente del Gruppo di Danza Rinascimentale di Roma di Barbara Sparti ha danzato anche per Il Ballarino e La Follia e collaborato con vari complessi strumentali.
Attiva nella divulgazione della danza storica ha partecipato a convegni, tenuto corsi e seminari per istituzioni pubbliche e private e curato manifestazioni didattiche per la Scuola di Ballo del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma e per l’Accademia Nazionale di Danza (AND) presso la quale ha tenuto regolarmente dall’anno accademico 2005/06 al 2020/21 i corsi di Danze Storiche. Dal 1992 è direttrice artistica de Il Teatro della Memoria, associazione con la quale organizza da più di vent’anni il workshop internazionale “L’Humor Bizzarro – Intarsi di musica e danza antica”.
Docente di Storia della Danza dal 1982 al 2019 presso l’AND, di cui è stata vice-direttrice dal 1991 al 1995, ha tenuto corsi di Storia della Danza presso la Scuola di Ballo del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma e insegnato continuativamente presso l’Università di Roma – La Sapienza e il Conservatorio “Alfredo Casella” dell’Aquila. Redattrice e autrice per “Chorégraphie” e “Cairon” ha pubblicato su riviste specializzate e curato voci per la “International Encyclopedia of Dance”, il “Dictionnaire Larousse de la Danse” e il “Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani”. Suoi i capitoli sul balletto in Italia nell’Ottocento per “Musica in Scena – Storia dello spettacolo musicale” (UTET). E’ stata componente del Gruppo di lavoro preposto ai nuovi ordinamenti didattici delle Accademie e dei Conservatori nominato dal Ministro dell’Istruzione, Università e Ricerca e del Comitato Tecnico Scientifico della “Biblioteca Digitale dei Licei Musicali e Coreutici”.
