Citizens of European Union member countries may apply up to 4 November
Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (Italian Youth Orchestra) – based in Fiesole near Florence – announces its auditions for the 2014 concert season. Citizens of European Union member countries born between 1987 and 1995 may apply for the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass Tuba, Percussion, Pianoforte, Harp.
The Artistic Direction will select, in accordance with the audition ranking, those that will take part in the activities of the Orchestra from December 2013 to November 2014, featuring chamber, symphonic and operatic programs – also in collaboration with other institutions – under the direction of such conductors as John Axelrod, Enrico Dindo, Christopher Hogwood, Riccardo Muti, Nicola Paszkowski, Giampaolo Pretto, Josef Wallnig.
Taking part in the activities of the Orchestra will not entitle to any salary but only to a reimbursement of €40,00 for every day of attendance at the Fiesole location. For outside concerts accommodation and meals will be instead offered. Deserving students, who will be entrusted with principal positions, will be awarded scholarships ranging from €4500 to €1000.
