The teachers of the 2012 summer workshop: Marina Bonetti, Renaissance and Baroque Harp

The course is open to harp players of any level who wish to approach or to advance in the technical and interpretative aspects of the Renaissance and baroque harp repertory and of the thorough bass. The course will be held on the celtic harp, on the Renaissance two-course harp and on the baroque three-course harp, according to the interests and capabilities of each participant. The didactic path (differentiated in respect to the level of each student) features collective and individual classes. Also pedal harp players wishing to explore the early music repertory on their instruments will be admitted, as well as celtic harp players, who will be taught an efficacious method for studying and memorizing medieval and Renaissance pieces. Instruments for individual practice will be made available; each student is invited to bring his own instrument for the collective practice classes.

Marina Bonetti has devoted more than fifteen years to the study and practice of historical harps without mechanics. She has taken part in important festivals in European, North and South American and African theatres and concert halls, collaborating with primary artists such as  G. Garrido (Enseble Elyma), J. Savall (“La Capella Real de Catalunya” and “Hespérion XXI”), C. Rousset (“Les Talens Lyriques”) and L. Garcìa Alarcòn (“Cappella Mediterranea”). As a soloist and continuo player she has recorded many CD’s, some of which have obtained important awards such as “Diapason d’Or”, 10 by “Repertoire” and 4 clès by “Télérama”. She has published papers and critical editions of original harp music for Pizzicato Verlag Helvetia.
