L’Humor Bizzarro torna con un’edizione 2013 ricca di novità, in particolare i corsi rivolti a bambini e ragazzi, un’occasione per grandi e piccini di passare insieme una settimana all’insegna dell’arte. Il tema portante delle classi di strumento e canto sarà la musica al tempo di Monteverdi ma, come da prassi consolidata, tutti i temi proposti nei corsi e nei laboratori confluiranno in uno spettacolo finale frutto dell’interazione fra allievi e docenti.

The teachers of the 2013 edition: Ilaria Sainato, European Dances of the 17th and 18th Century

Recueil de Dance et Contredances
The course is aimed towards dancers, musicians and whoever  wishes to approach or to further the knowledge of baroque dance technique. 
 The theoretical and practical classes feature warm-up, study of basic choreutic technique and of choreographies, mainly reconstructed from the Beauchamp–Feuillet notation; part of the classes will be devoted to questions pertaining sources, dance notation and treatises, choreographic repertory. During the study of choreograpies, particular attention will be given to the connection and integration between music and dance, with reference to problems of performance of dance music. The choregraphies, that will be chosen by the teacher according to the level and the needs of the participants, will be taker from the treatises by  J. Playford, R.–A. Feuillet, J. Essex, M. Gaudrau.

ILARIA SAINATO graduated in Musicology at Università degli studi di Pavia-Cremona, with a dissertation in Phylology about Italian dance of the Quattrocento. She has studied Renaissance and Baroque dance with Veronique Daniels, Barbara Sparti, Deda Cristina Colonna, Ana Yepes. She teaches Renaissance dancing at Scuola di Musica Antica di Venezia and gives courses and theoretical-practical seminars at schools, institutions and associations in Italy and abroad. She organizes shows about dance of the 15th to 17th Century in collaboration with several ensembles and companies; in particular with La Girometta she deals with the reconstruction of Italian dance repertory of the Quattrocento and Cinquecento from the original treatise sources taking in to account their musical concordances. She has extended her research to problems in reconstructing 17th and 18th Century theatrical performance with music, in particular regarding staging and gesture, collaborating to several stage productions such as  Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart, Il Ballo delle Ingrate by C. Monteverdi, La Fida Ninfa by A. Vivaldi, Atalanta Fugiens by M. Maier, Flavio Cuniberto by G. D. Partenio; she has also directed this latter. She has been assistant direcctor for: Mulier Fortis by J. B. Staut, The Fairy Queen by E. Purcell and Così fan tutte by W. A. Mozart (directed byDeda Cristina Colonna), Madama Butterfly and Turandot by G. Puccini (directed by Hiroki Ihara), Rigoletto by G. Verdi (directed by Ivan Stefanutti), Sonnambula by V.Bellini (directed by Stefano Vizioli). She collaborates with As.Li.Co. – Teatro Sociale di Como as Stage Manager.

The teachers of the 2013 edition: Paolo Tagliapietra, Cembalo Accompanist

PAOLO TAGLIAPIETRA, born in Turin in 1960, has obtained diplomas in Pianoforte, Choral Music and Choir Direction as well as the specialization in Chamber Music at Accademia di Santa Cecilia. He also studied Organ, Composition and Conducting. He has been awarded prizes in several performance competions and has dealt with various aspects of music: from the instrumental cultured repertory to the sacred and profane vocality, the traditional music of countries such as Armenia, Russia and Japan, but also the Neapolitan tradition and contemporary music. Deeply interested in Renaissance and Baroque music, he has been conductor, continuist and maestro al cembalo for many instrumental and vocal groups, such as the ensemble “Voci italiane” with which he has performed in several countries around the World, realizing transcriptions and vocal arrangements from the Neapolitan 19th Century repertory. He holds the post of Piano Accompanist for Dance at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza. He has performed in all the World as pianist, organist and conductor.

The teachers of the 2013 edition: Ninad Massimo Carrano, Percussion

The course will focus on the performing techniques and styles of frame drums and percussions of the Mediterranean basin and the Middle East (Italian tambourine, riq, Azeri technique on bodhran). The course is open to students of any level. A limited number of instruments will be available for individual practice; students are therefore advised to bring their own.

NINAD MASSIMO CARRANO for more than thirty years has carried out an intense activity in Italy and abroad as an author and a performer of jazz and ethnic music. He has featured as a collaborator to prestigious theatre and dance performances and has played for important early music ensembles directed by R. Jacob, A. De Marchi and C. Pluhar. As a teacher of Percussion and of Rhythmic Sensibilizzation (a method of which he is the ideator) he has taught at the Federazione Italiana di Musicoterapia. He collaborates with the therapeutist Vedanta Aspioti of Osho Institute for Intuition, is a  Drum Circle facilitator and a honorary member of Sociedad Percuba (Cuban percussionists in the World). He has been a professor of Afrocuban Percussions at the  Lecce Conservatory; presently he teaches at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza.

The teachers of the 2013 edition: Mauro Morini, Sackbut and Baroque Trombone

The course, following a historical and aesthetic path, addresses both beginners and advanced students who want to approach or further the study and practice of the historical trombone. The period that will be examined will be that from the Renaissance to Baroque, not excluding extensions and connections with other periods. Aspects relating to performance practice, technical problems, historical and aesthetical adherence to the repertories will be taken in consideration, as well as themes such as articulation and phrasing on the basis of witnesses and indications from period treatises. The course is also open to modern trombone players wishing to perform the early music repertory with their instrument.

 

MAURO MORINI obtained his Diploma at the Conservatorio “F. Morlacchi” in Perugia with  C. Menci, studying subsequently with B. Slokar, E. Bezalel, R. Sauer, P. Goodwin and, for early music, with D. Bellugi at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, with B. Dickey and Ch. Toet at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana (Honourable Mention) and at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis – Hochschule für Alte Musik in Basel. He has developed an intense artistic activiy in Italy and in many countries of Europe, the Mediterranean basin and Northern and Southern America. He regularly performs in major concert halls and for international festivals with prestigious ensembles and internationally outstanding conductors. With the modern trombone he has ranged from chamber to lyrical-symphonic orchestral repertory and to jazz formations. His interest for the early music repertory and for historical instruments has brought him to devote a large part of his activity to this sector, ranging from the late Middle Ages to the 19th century. In this very sector he has taught seminars at the Conservatories of Rovigo, Brescia and Novara, he has taught at the Early Music Department of the  Conservatorio di Ferrara and at the Perfecting courses of Rovigo Musica Antica in 2010 and 2012. He plays several instruments that are representative of the history and evolution of the trombone: buisine, tromba da tirarsi, historical (Renaissance, baroque, classical) trombone, serpent, bass trumpet with rotary valves and 19th century trombone with rotary valves. He has recorded for TV and radio broadcasters and for several discographic editions that won acclaim from the specialized press as well as international prizes and awards such as: 5 Goldberg, 10 Répertoire, ffff Télérama, Choc du Disque, Diapason d’or de l’année 2005, Gramophone Award 2008. He holds the Trombone teaching chair at the Conservatorio “F. Venezze” in Rovigo; he also teaches the same subject at the Conservatorio “L. Cherubini” in Florence.

Il programma del corso, aperto ad allievi di ogni livello, prevede lo studio della tecnica e dei passi base della danza dell’Ottocento e l’apprendimento di danze di società caratterizzate dal colore locale (Varsovienne, Tyrolienne…) ricostruite sulla base dei manuali di ballo della seconda metà dell’Ottocento.

PAOLO DI SEGNI Nato in Svizzera, avviato alla musica ed alla ritmica da L. Di Segni-Jaffé (metodo Jaques Dalcroze), ha studiato pianoforte e violoncello. Specializzatosi in danza storica sotto la guida di B. Sparti, F. Lancelot, S. Wynne, ha fatto parte del Gruppo di Danza Rinascimentale di Roma; con questo ed altri gruppi di danza antica ha partecipato a numerose tournée in Italia ed all’estero. Si dedica alla ricerca, alla ricostruzione e divulgazione delle danze storiche, in particolare dell’800. Ha curato programmi sulla Quadriglia per TeleMontecarlo, partecipato a Telethon ’97 e ’98, tenuto seminari presso la Scuola di Ballo del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, a Catania presso il Balletto di Sicilia ed a Napoli. Ha collaborato con l’Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari e collabora con l’associazione Dimensione Polifonica alla realizzazione di eventi per il Comune di Napoli.
